Frequently Asked Questions…
Are Nail Vinyls Reusable?
Technically, no. Some people do reuse them, but they are designed to only be used one time each!
What color vinyl will my products come on?
Unless it is a special edition sheet (like a holiday), then your vinyls will come on one of our four core colors – black, pink, mint, or purple.
Should I paint over the vinyls or sponge the nail polish on?
This usually depends on a couple of things – the design of vinyl you are using, and the nail polish you are using. For instance:
- Polishes that are thin and take several coats for opacity are best sponged on. This way, you don’t wind up with large lumps of polish because you had to apply several coats. (Another trick is to use the thinner polish as the bottom color of the nail and a more opaque one over the vinyl).
- If the vinyl has very small openings (very intricate designs) or very large openings (our giant dots) you might get more even coverage if you sponge it on to make sure the polish isn’t as runny and doesn’t pull when you take the vinyl off.
Do I topcoat before I use the vinyl?
YES! Always! We recommend a quick-dry topcoat (Like HK Girl from Glisten and Glow). Wait about 10 to 15 minutes after the topcoat to ensure the nail is fully dried, and then apply the vinyl. If you apply the vinyl directly over your base polish it will pull the base color up when you remove the vinyl.
How long do I wait after topcoat before applying the vinyl?
Wait about 10 to 15 minutes after the topcoat to ensure the nail is fully dried, and then apply the vinyl.
